Scheme Aikyashree Scholarship for meritorious students of the state. This project is so that economically backward students do not lose the opportunity of higher education in good educational institutions due to lack of money. Scholarships were introduced by the West Bengal government for those minority meritorious students of the country. Currently, many students are able to complete their higher education by availing this scholarship facility. This scholarship is divided into 3 parts.
How to Apply for Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme?
Eligibility of applicants, scholarship amount for each category is given below in detail. Without further ado let’s take a quick look.
Name of the scholarship – Aikyashree Scholarship (Aikyashree Scholarship).
Note that this scholarship is given to meritorious students of Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Muslim, Parsi and Sikh communities. The scholarship is divided into 3 categories.
1) Pre-Matric Scholarship,
2) Post Matric Scholarship,
3) Merit Cum Means Scholarship.
Eligibility to apply for Pre-Matric Scholarship
Students of class I to IX studying in an educational institution recognized by the Government of West Bengal can apply. Besides, the annual income of the family should be up to 2 lakh rupees.
Scholarship Amount- Annual scholarship from Tk 1100 to Tk 11000 thousand will be provided (subject to actual expenses).
Post Matric Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to the students of 11th to PhD courses (i.e. Higher Secondary, Diploma, IIT, Graduation, Post Graduation, M Field, B Ed etc. Courses) studying in an educational institution recognized by the Government of West Bengal. Besides, the annual income of the family should be up to 2 lakh rupees.
Amount of Scholarship – Aikyashree Scholarship will provide a maximum scholarship of Rs.16,500 per annum (subject to actual expenditure).
Merit cum Means Scholarship
Students of professional and technical education studying in an educational institution recognized by the Government of West Bengal can apply. It should be noted that even if you are studying in IIT, IIM, NIT, NIFT, IIFT etc. from outside West Bengal, you can apply. In that case, the annual income of the applicant’s family should be up to 2.5 lakh rupees.
Scholarship Amount – Scholarship will be awarded up to a maximum of Rs 33,000 per annum (subject to actual expenditure).
Application Conditions
1) Must be permanent resident of West Bengal.
2) Applicant should secure minimum 50% marks in final examination (not applicable for first class).
3) An applicant will receive a scholarship from an educational institution.
4) Applicant must use a valid and active mobile number at the time of registration in the application. Note that two mobile numbers can be given in case of pre-matric scholarship.
5) Account number and IFSC code should be provided along with xerox of bank passbook.
6) After applying, the printout of the application form should be submitted to the concerned educational institution for future reference.
